Our family loves the library. My husband and I are both avid readers. Hopefully love for the written word will be passed on to our children. Weekly, we trek down to our favorite library.
Our first stop is the return station. As you can see this is no ordinary book drop. The boys love to watch the books go down the conveyor belt and drop into the proper bins. They actually have had fights over who is going to return the books. To avoid fighting in the library of all places I separate a stack books for each child to return. There is a light system that tells you when to insert the next book. Its pretty cool.
Once all the books are returned the boys go to different areas, Emmanuel and Joshua head to the toddler area and play with puzzles. Christopher selects the books he would like to read first then, goes to another section where he plays video games with other children his age. While they are in various areas of the library I pick up our books that are on hold and then I go through the shelves for books that would be great read aloud selections for the week.
Then its time to check out. The boys love helping me check out as well. I divide a stack for each boy to scan.
Then we take our selections home and wait for the next library trip.

We are frequent library visitors also. The return system looks pretty cool. We will probably head over to ours this evening.

You have a cool-looking library! Thank goodness for the toddler section with toys, I'd never get anything picked out without that little diversion...these are sweet years, aren't they?
Thanks Cara, I agree with you I am so grateful for the toddler section. Otherwise my Joshua would follow me taking books off the shelf. (sigh)
