On Vacation

Its very rare that this family of five gets an opportunity to get away for an extended period of time. Living on one income makes yearly vacations almost unheard of but we do manage a weekend getaway here and there.    This week we are blessed to spend six days in the San Antonio/Austin area.

Part of our time we will be attending a church conference where 17,000 members of sister churches from around the world have gathered to have a good time.  The rest of our time we are hanging out with friends and family and  visiting local tourist attractions.

I am battling the homeschool spirit within me to make every moment a learning opportunity.   Yes, I would love to visit the Alamo and learn all the history there is to know but on the other hand its my vacation.  I just want to enjoy my time off.  Heaven knows there will be plenty of learning opportunities later.  So I’m signing off for the week to enjoy some fun in the sun.

Thanks for the well wishes. I think we will hit the Alamo tomorrow. We have had dinner several times on the riverwalk, very nice spot.
