Don’t Mix Business With Pleasure.
Our trip to San Antonio was a mixture of church conference and family vacation. The trip was nice but in hindsight there are ways it could have been better. Instead of mixing the two events. It would have been better for us to go down to San Antonio focus on the conference first and then enjoy our family vacation.
Instead we tried to mix up the two and do a little of both daily. The end result was not really feeling engaged in either the vacation or the conference.
If you find yourself traveling and mixing business and family time. Figure out how you can get the most out of the time you have. Perhaps focusing on one thing at a time will be less stressful and more enjoyable.
We can never go back in time, but if I could change one thing about our trip, it would be not mixing business with pleasure.

I've been in a similar situation myself and ended up focusing on one more than the other which, of course, created problems.
Hindsight is underrated, isn't it?
