Keeping Dad Involved with Homeschooling

We are entering the third year of our homeschool journey. This summer while planning for our year I really pondered about a way to include dad into our day. Yes we share what we are learning and each year we take a standardized exam but I felt that dad was missing the bigger picture.

One day while researching curriculum I came across a company that includes pop quizzes for dad. Essentially the pop quiz is a way for dad to know what the kids are learning and a way for him to have meaningful conversations with the kids about what they are learning. Though I did not choose this curriculum I knew that I wanted to incorporate the idea into our year.
So I created a word document template . The idea is that I will fill it out each week and send it to hubby. Hubby then can better interact with the boys about what they have studied for the week. Last week was our first week and on Friday I sent my completed template to hubby.  During our family time he incorporated several quiz questions into our game to test the boys knowledge/retention.

How do you keep your dads involved with the kids education?

I think it's great that you have put something in place to keep your husband involved.

My husband usually get a recap at the end of most days--definitely on the weekend. Since he's an educator as well, we did a good amount of discussion about this year over the summer months.

It's indeed a blessing to have your husbands support in homeschooling.
