We’re Back!

We have returned from our amazing trip to Spain.  I will post more about our trip over the next few days.  In the mean time check out this huge monster plane we traveled on.  Its called a 380 Airbus.  They say a picture is worth a thousand words but this picture does not convey how huge this plane is.  It’s massive. First and business class are upstairs, sixteen different emergency exits, wow.  All other planes seem so small in comparison.

On the home front we are still knee deep in renovations.  Upon our arrival, the workers were not as far along as we had hoped. So we pondered a hotel stay for a few days until the house is further along, but decided against it.  We are home and making it work. Getting back to a routine with scaffolds, equipment and that half inch of dust that contractors bring with them is a challenge but if I can at least get most of the dust off the floors and furniture and grocery shop then that will be a huge accomplishment.   Of course as this project comes to an end all the other home improvement tasks that need attention seem to be glaring at me.

We have one problem, our floors are the wrong color.  The night we arrived home I thought the floors looked a little dark but thought perhaps I was tired or the lighting in the house at night made the floors appear darker.  But no, daylight came and the upstairs floors are in fact a different color than the downstairs.  Its to late now we can’t change them.  Scratch that we could change them but we don’t have the money, nor the patience for that.  So that means we have multi colored flooring throughout our house.  Its going to drive me crazy I’m sure of it. You can kind of see the difference the floors to the left are more blonde.

On the bright side we are now a carpet free home. Thank heavens because the carpet on the stairs was ugly.  Stay tuned for more.

Tiffany, just think of it as when you enter a new area (where the wood is a different color), you're heading into a new experience. You'll love carpet-free floors. We've had them for years and even though I love how nice a clean/new carpeted floor looks, I don't miss everything that comes with, sticks on and lives in carpet.
