January has come and gone can you believe it! Nothing special this week school as usual which is good. I have made adjustments since we lose Friday due to our co-op participation. Losing a day during the week really makes a difference so its no nonsense Monday through Thursday.
Tot School- Joshua has become increasingly disruptive during school hours so this week I purchased his first set of school workbooks. We will begin to implement them next week.
Pre K- Emmanuel finished Kindergarten Level 1 phonics he has now moved on to Level 2. We continue working on his math and motor skills.
2nd Grade-Christopher has a fantastic week.
Math-Completed lessons 38-40. We have been more diligent with our math fact practice and our efforts are paying off. Our curriculum comes with flash cards and we use www.xtramath.com for additional drill.
History- Learned about castles and knights. Hopefully all goes well and we will be able to attend a field trip this Wednesday to Medieval Times to watch a joust. I’m sure the boys will love it. We also learned about Jamestown and Captain John Smith.
Science-Studied different biomes, desserts, rainforests, grasslands and icy poles.
English-Worked with the pronouns, he, she, I , me it.
Phonics- Completed lessons 26-29

Great week! Legos always make school better!
You previously asked me about memory work. I squeeze it in at breakfast or while out in the car mostly. Also, this semester Noodle is taking a Memory Work class at co-op.
We also are a part of a weekly Co-op. We just love it! So, funny because we also just finished up learning about Medieval Times. In fact the kids even dressed up as knights and did a jousting tournament ;) ~> Thankfully since we school year round, losing a day a week does not cause much issue for us. (We use an online program that allows us this flexibility to change grade as we need to. It is called Time4Learning if you were curious)
Anyways, this is Such a Wonderful Blog and I have enjoyed reading it. Looking forward to your next posting :)
